1: Apply a primer to the entire lid with your finger and
powder. For an everyday look, it is best to choose inconspicuous nude tones. In

Variants of the Mermaid Tears
Once you have discovered how great the mermaid tears
emphasize the eyes, you might want to paint the inner corners of the eyes in a
different color than the outer edge. That's a good idea!
A light color on the inside opens the eyes optically and
makes them look more alert and radiant. So it doesn't have to be a point, you
choose a light color for the inside of the upper and lower eyelids, such as
metallic copper.

A combination of mermaid tears and cat-eye was created at
Chloé. The eyes were rimmed really black, similar to Smokey Eyes. This gives
the models a somewhat strict, but very dramatic expression. It looks brighter
and friendlier if you paint the cat eyes in black, but then add light accents
around the eye and in the corners of the eyes.
Current trends for Mermaid Tears
At the beginning of the trend, the color tones were matched
to our eye color, now cooler tones such as blue, silver and black dominate.
Dramatic eyeshadow variations can now be created from small
dabs of color, such as black eyeshadow into the corner of the eye. Seen at
Chanel spring 2021: Here black eyeshadow was applied centered in the inner
corner of the eye and distributed over the entire upper lid.
Even more emphasis is now placed on a well and conspicuously
